Summary

Project “Seclecting and breeding some types of flowers for Central part” was researched on genus Lilium, Gerbera and Chrysanthemum from 2011 to 2013. Through the project, we collected, introduced, carried out in-situ conservation and evaluated group of 15 lily varieties, 20 gerbera flowers varieties, 8 Easter lily varieties, 25 chrysanthemum flowers varieties for our breeding program. The testing result have shown that two lily OT-hybrids as Belladonna and Robina, two gerbera flowers varieties as DTH 125 and DTH 199, 1 L.xformongi “Tu Quy” variety, two chrysanthemum flowers variteties as “Mai vang” and “Fam vang) has far superior characters, adaptation to climate conditions in Central part. These varieties were suggested for production testing. We made crossing 12 lily combinations, 5 gerbera flower combinations, 4 Longiflorum combinations and 6 chrysanthemum combinations. Through evaluation, we initially selected two Longiflorum lines as LK4 and LK5, two gerbera flowers lines as DTL-01 and two chrysanthemum flower line as CL-01 and CL-02 which have a good growth and development, adaptation ability to hot weather  in Central part. They need to be tested in next crop. Beside, some processed of propagation, growing and care, flower controlling for new varieties were also built.
